Ammon's Wishlist

What follows is the result of Penny's having asked me what she should give me for my last birthday. Since the file was still lying around and since it does contain a pretty good list of everything that I want, I figured that I could move it up here so as to make information available to those random people who are just itching to blow their hard-earned moneys on gifts for me ;)

Btw, this list is not really in any particular order other than that in which I decided to throw things down.

Books

Terry Pratchett

Thief of Time, The Fifth Elephant, Lords and Ladies, Jingo, Feet of Clay, The Last Hero

R A Salvatore

The Cleric Quintet, Icewind Dale Series

Computer/Geek Related

Game Programming Gems (1-4), Just For Fun: Linus Torvalds Biography, Neuromancer, Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, The Cathedral and The Bazaar, The Mythical Man-Month, Quicksilver, Levy's Hackers, pretty much anything printed by Charles River Media or O'Reilley

Chinese

Shui Hu Zhuan (Outlaws of the Marsh), the second half of San Guo Yan Yi (Romance of the Three Kingdoms), Sun Tsu's Art of War (a good translation, not one for businessmen), Confucian and Daoist classics

Japanese

Genji Monogatari (ideally a translation with the pictures), pretty much any annotated poetry collection

(chinese and jap lit, translated is necessary and unabridged is nice, though something of an inline translation would be even better - at least for poetry)

Computer Toys

Random Hardware

hard drive (ide, prefferably 7200rpm), gigabit networking stuff (switches, routers, nics), dvd burner, laser printer (standalone network server)

Macintosh

G4 or G5 would be nice since I'm using a G3 for things right now

Video Games

PS2

DDR (max, max2, extreme, or old psx games), nice DDR pad(s), Dark Cloud 2, FFXI, .hack//QUARANTINE (Outbreak would also be nice), ICO, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, Wizardry, Armored Core

Gamecube

Animal Crossing, Zelda: Wind Waker, Mario Kart, Mario Party (four, five, six), Harvest Moon, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros, Worms, FFCC, actual gamecube system would be nice as well :P

Gameboy

Advance Wars (one, two), Breath of Fire (one, two), Zelda, Lunar Legend, Pokemon (Ruby or Sapphire), Kirby, a GBA SP would also be nice (no real desire for DS right now)

Misc

• Ties are always nice
• Almost anything from ThinkGeek.com would be cool
• Food is good, esp bratwurst and mince pie
• Furniture is good ;)
• A second car would also be rather well appreciated, eh?
